Keeping Quiet

2008/2009

Eschewing the art historical tradition of dramatic action and multiple figures, this body of work instead asks for a quieter contemplation of the roles (if any) these once-ubiquitous characters continue to play. All of the works are small, playfully postulating a contemporary existence for a variety of mythological beings.

Paintings are primarily done in gouache; works on paper include etching, lithography, and letterpress prints.
